🐾 Tony - A Gentle Soul Looking for Love 🐾 Meet Tony, a 10-month-old Maremma Sheepdog who's been quietly growing into a wonderful companion. Tony was returned to our care due to his owner's health issues, through no fault of his own. Since then, he has continued to grow in confidence and is showing just how lovely he can be in the right environment. Tony is calm and settled in the home and is fully toilet trained. He enjoys the company of other dogs and does very well with them, so a confident canine companion could be a great match. He has also been living comfortably with a cat, meaning he could be suitable for a cat-friendly home. While Tony walks nicely on lead, he does struggle with getting into the car and will need patient, positive training to help him become more comfortable with this. He can resource guard high-value items such as bones (growling only), but does not guard his regular food, so his new family will need to be mindful and experienced in managing this. Tony is still a sensitive boy and will need a calm, child-free home where he can continue building trust at his own pace. As a Maremma, he requires a breed-experienced home that understands the unique needs of livestock guardian breeds, and for this reason we will only be accepting applications from previous Maremma (or similar breed) owners.
