Amara arrived at GAWS as a stray alongside a dog we believe to be her littermate, given their striking resemblance. She has been an absolute pleasure to handle, responding well to direction and showing great promise as a dog who will thrive with continued training and gentle guidance. Amara found her initial dog-to-dog assessment a little challenging, but she is steadily learning that she can choose calmer, more appropriate responses around other dogs. She tends to gravitate toward friendly male dogs and has begun to enjoy the early stages of social play with the right companion. Amara may need support transitioning into an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, and like all dogs, she will benefit from ongoing work on her basic manners and lead skills. She is best suited to being the only dog in her new home. She has not been tested with cats, and a home with children aged 10 and over is recommended.
